Trainee Report Sorlandet: Steeven Sheehy 2011
"Stepping onboard a tall ship for the first time is an unforgettable encounter; the high masts, the huge sails, the beautiful crafted ropes and braces, the colourful flags, the smell of fresh sea air, and its overall character.
Taking part in this years Tall Ships race as a trainee gave me the chance to experience these incredible sights and sounds every minute of the day while sailing across the Irish sea." Read More
Trainee Report Lord Nelson: Sarah O'Keefe 2011
"I fell in love with sailing within my first day on board the Lord Nelson and I can honestly say it was an experience of a lifetime, and quite possibly one of the best weeks I have ever had.
The difference between the Lord Nelson and every other tall ship is that people who sail with the Jubilee Sailing Trust, who own the Lord Nelson, get the opportunity to sail with both able bodied and disabled people.
This is an incredible experience; not only does it enhance your awareness and appreciation for people with disabilities, but it is also extremely rewarding to watch these inspiring people achieve the same tasks as an able bodied person."
